Yogesh

Meet NewVIc student and Campaigns Officer Yogesh. Yogesh is a former Stratford School Academy student and is currently in his second year studying Level 3 Art and Design. We caught up with Yogesh to find out a little more.

Why did you choose to go for your Student Union role?

I ran for the Campaigns Officer role this year because I was part of the Campaign Champions last year and we were involved in many campaigns. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we couldn’t complete what we had planned. I am planning to lead on the campaigns when we return to some normality.

What do you enjoy about being a student at NewVIc?

The best thing about being a student at NewVIc is the people I meet at college. I have also enjoyed the opportunities given to me. I have developed so many skills by being a part of the Student Development Programme which not all colleges offer.

What would you like to improve with your role?

With my role I would like to change all the things that I didn’t get a chance to tackle due to the pandemic. Looking at increasing the awareness of youth crime, making the college more environmentally friendly, improve relationships between students and teachers and improving student social spaces.

What is your favourite food?

I like so many things which is why I don’t really have one favourite type of food.

What would be your superpower and why?

My superpower would be the power to imitate and copy the powers of others.
