Meet NewVIc student and Student Union Vice President Aleena. Aleena is currently in her second year on her Level 3 Travel and Tourism course. We caught up with Aleena to find out a little more.

Why did you choose to go for your Student Union role?

I was inspired by the student union members in the last academic year. Seeing how dedicated they were with their roles with the union and the level of commitment they showed. I wanted to be part of something like this and be motivated even more.  

What do you enjoy about being a student at NewVIc?

The NewVIc environment is safe, friendly and welcoming. The teachers and support staff are very helpful. 

What would you like to improve with your role?

I would like to help students who are having any problems or have concerns about the college. I would also like to encourage more students to take part in the different activities and opportunities available to them, which will also help them develop their future skills but also support their wellbeing. 

What is your favourite food?

Love Chinese food, where do I start?!

What would be your superpower and why?

Superwoman - why? Because I will be able to do everything!
