NewVIc launches ‘Just One Thing,’ a peer led collaborative assessment enquiry project
Teaching and support staff at NewVIc marked the launch of ‘Just One Thing,’ a peer led collaborative assessment enquiry project.
Yesterday, teaching and support staff at NewVIc marked the launch of ‘Just One Thing,’ a peer led collaborative assessment enquiry project designed to create a space for teachers to reflect on teaching and learning practice and empower students to become independent learners. Teaching staff were invited to a ‘Cake and Pair’ event to find out which colleague they had been partnered with.
As part of the initiative, a team of learning coaches linked to specific curriculum areas will guide teachers and drive conversations as the College embarks on an exciting teaching and learning journey. Learning coaches will support teacher inductions and CPD throughout the year.
Lorna Langridge, Head of Quality and Curriculum Development said:
“Taking our teaching and learning practice to the next level sits at the heart of improving the student experience and learner outcomes. I’m delighted that so many teachers participated in the launch event, where they were able to discover who they have been paired with - and celebrate with a slice of cake!
Many thanks to our learning coaches for helping to make the event a success.”
