Assistant Principal Student Services Tracy Oko added:

The Sports Academy and Safeguarding and Welfare Teams at NewVIc work incredibly closely together to ensure that the physical activity offer is attractive and relevant to our students. We are able to identify students who would benefit and encourage participation in activities.

There is a key focus on engaging inactive students and using physical activity as a tool to support students’ mental health and wellbeing. We acknowledge that mental wellbeing is a key indicator for attendance and achievement. It is a lovely surprise to reach the shortlist for this award and we're delighted with the recognition!
