Class of 2024: Congratulations to all of our students!

We were delighted to welcome back so many of our students to collect their A Level, T Level and vocational results on Thursday 15 August.

We are proud of the achievements of all our students and especially happy that many have secured their first choice destinations, including progression onto university, apprenticeships, Higher Technical Qualifications or their chosen career pathways.

55% of our A Level grades were A*- C and 26% of A Level grades were A* to B. Overall we achieved 93.3% A Level pass rate, an increase of 2% on last year. 100% pass rates were achieved in A Level Physics, A Level English, A level Geography and A level Art. A 98% pass rate was achieved in maths and Further maths A levels. STEM subjects in particular have improved markedly. A Level A*-C grades improved by 10.1%.

A number of areas performed brilliantly:

83.3% of students A Level grades in A Level Graphic Design were A* to C. 

81.6% of students achieved A* to C grades in A Level Chemistry. 

81.3% of students achieved A* to C grades in A Level Mathematics and 77.8% of students achieved A* to C grades in Further Mathematics.

75% of students achieved A* to C grades in A Level Fine Art.

Overall, our BTEC pass rate for our vocational students was 90%. A 3.5% improvement on last year, with many of our vocational students securing places at their chosen universities.

There have been some wonderful individual success stories too:

David studied a National Extended diploma in business and achieved a D*DD. He said, “It’s been a long 2 years but the hard work has paid off!

Jasleen studied a Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma Health and Social Care and achieved a D*DD. She said, 

“I am over the moon. I was expecting a triple distinction and ended up with a D*DD! I plan to study for a degree in Psychology at City University. Her Dad, Davedd, who is also a NewVIc Alumni said, “I’m so proud - she’s done amazingly well and I hope she continues to build her confidence and progress her education.”

David M studied A Levels in Business, Law and Sociology and achieved triple A’s.He is heading off to the University of Birmingham to study for a degree in Law.  He said, 

“When I arrived at NewVIc, I was new to the system having arrived from Nigeria. My time at NewVIc has been fantastic. I completed my GCSEs at NewVIc through Progress to Advanced, an intensive GCSE programme, and achieved A grades in all my subjects! I then progressed to study A Levels. Throughout my timer here, my teachers have been amazing and supported me every step of the way.

We wish all of our students the very best as they move on to the next adventure in their educational journey and/or careers.”

NewVIc Interim Principal and Chief Executive, Jamie Purser said,
