We believe that everybody has the power to make a positive impact on society - small changes that add up to make the world a better place.

Our motto is: Diverse in Ambition, United in Success

  • A new role is available for someone who is passionate about teaching and learning, with a strong focus on pedagogy. The ideal candidate will be able to use this passion to improve classroom practices for teachers within the organisation, ultimately enhancing the educational outcomes for students. The successful applicant will be dedicated to raising standards of education and making a positive impact on teaching methodologies.

The quality team is a key aspect in improving the student experience, with a total of 4 staff members, including five learning coaches, making up the team.

At NewVIc we strongly believe in team working and see this as one of the reasons for our success. You will work in a supportive team who aim for high standards. Managers will give you guidance and support in your work, while the Executive Director Of Quality will take specific responsibility for your probationary review and appraisal. You will work well with 16-19 year olds and contribute to a student-centred environment both inside and outside of the classroom.

As a manager, you will be innovative and reflective, with a genuine interest in young people and how they learn.

  • What’s in it for you?

We offer the opportunity to help develop your skills and knowledge in a friendly team environment, plus a range of benefits including a career average pension scheme (LGPS), employee assistance programme, onsite parking, cycle to work, onsite canteen, TECH Scheme, Eye Care support and full access to the onsite gym.

    Equality, diversity and inclusion

We are committed to creating and promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce that better reflects the wider community we support. We particularly welcome applicants from groups currently under-represented in senior roles, including females, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), people with disabilities and from the LGBTQ community.

    Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of our students and expect everybody working for the College to share this commitment.  We actively seek DBS clearance checks for applications of employment as part of our safeguarding procedures.

This role will be starting as soon as possible depending on notice period for successful candidates

Due to the nature of our business and environment, the post for which you are applying is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, which means that candidates must disclose ‘spent convictions, cautions and reprimands’. A copy of our Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Policy is available on request.

We regret that we are unable to respond to every application. Therefore, if you do not hear from us within four weeks of the closing date, please assume your application has been unsuccessful.

  • Please read the job description and the person specification carefully. Consider the extent to which you meet the person specification, and illustrate this in your application’s personal statement. You can include all relevant experience, including voluntary work.

We appreciate that if you are applying for a first post, you may have limited direct experience of some aspects of the work. This should not stop you from applying as long as you feel that overall you can show that you meet the criteria for the post.

When we draw up a longlist of candidates, we select those who most closely match the person specification. Unfortunately, we often receive applications where the candidate has not taken this into account. It is rare for these candidates to be longlisted.

You should give evidence of how you meet the criteria - please don't just quote them. You can write a paragraph on each requirement in turn, showing how you meet it. However, this might restrict your ability to present yourself as you wish. You may, therefore, organise your supporting statement more freely, while still considering the criteria.

Your application may be word-processed or handwritten. Good presentation and accurate expression are expected.

Your supporting statement should strictly be no more than 1,200 words.
