NewVIc performing arts alumni are very excited to present their show ‘Seen’ at this year's National Student Drama Festival. The group’s piece got selected last year when they were NewVIc students but due to lockdown the live festival was cancelled. As a result the group were commissioned by the festival to create a new piece for NSDF21. Working with Annie John and mentored by director Ali Pidsley and actor Debbie Korley, they researched, developed and rehearsed the work on zoom before coming together to film the show in February.

The National student drama festival is now in its 65th year and is famous for showcasing the best theatre created by 16-25 year olds from all over the UK. Each year the work is presented to an audience of young people, professionals and the public. This year’s festival will be taking place online and will showcase 14 new pieces of theatre, all of which are free and open to all.

‘Seen’ will be released live online at 7.30pm on Saturday 27th March and will be followed by a Q and A with the company. Devised by the company and drawing on their own experiences, ‘Seen’ fuses storytelling, spoken word and physical theatre to explore how it feels to be a young person in the here and now. The company of performers are Moses Oridoye, Eden Tambala, Martyna Belz, Aman Basha, Larissa Silva, Jason Fernandes and Jemima Nzinga.

For more information about the show and to register to watch online just click here: https://www.nsdf.org.uk/whats-on/seen-nsdf-21-934/

The show will be available to watch throughout the week of the festival.

Alongside this NSDF runs around 100 workshops led by some of the most talented professionals in the industry with this year's festival featuring Clint Dyer, Phyllida Lloyd, Giles Terera, Josh O’Connor, Rory Kinnear and many more. Anyone can watch and participate in these workshops and they are all free and online.
