What made you choose NewVIc?

My oldest brother was a former student at the college and he enjoyed studying Construction and Engineering. He completed his studies and went onto university after NewVIc. He told me about the different opportunities that were open for him so I wanted to follow in his footsteps.

WHY DID YOU PICK a business t level transition TO STUDY?

I picked to study my chosen subject because I thoroughly enjoy learning lots of new and different things. One day I want to use my business skills and knowledge and set up my own business.

How have you found sixth form so far?

I am really enjoy my first few months here. I have started to participate in different college activities such as Student Council, Student Champion and as a Student Ambassador. All of these activities are enabling me to improve as a person as well as a student too.

I love meeting new people and making new friends and by taking part in activities in the college it has made it easier to expand my friend circle.

Is there anything you wish you had known that you do now?

Before I started college I thought I will never get anywhere in life with my disability. Looking back I started to learn that anyone can get to where they want to get to in life, no matter what their disability may be. We are all capable and being at NewVIc I feel really supported to achieve the best I can to progress.

Who is the most inspiring person you have ever met?

I love Kim Nam-joon, known professionally as RM, the South Korean rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is the leader of South Korean boy band BTS.

He really inspires me because I love the way he has so much confidence in himself when he speaks in public to all of his fans.

What is your advice for students considering NewVIc?

Do what you love and are interested in doing. Nothing is impossible and don’t forget that there is always light in the dark.

HOW HAVE YOU BEEN SUPPORTED WITH A DISABILITY?

The entire learning support team have been fantastic. Everyone is so nice to me and I have been treated the same like everyone else in all of my lessons to date.

So what’s next?

After I finish my studies at NewVIc I want to go to university to study business and economics and then open my own clothing brand. Watch this space!
