NewVIc‘s class of 2016 return to celebrate!

Former NewVIc A-level students return home

NewVIc’s 2016 cohort of students returned to the College in their hundreds to collect their official certificates at the presentation ceremonies. The ceremonies are a regular feature in the College calendar and are a great opportunity for tutors to catch up with what students have been doing since leaving.

The events were held on Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 January and for many ex-students it was a chance to meet up with classmates and take the time to remember what amazing results they had achieved and what they’ve gone on to do afterwards.

Principal, Eddie Playfair, was master of ceremonies on all of the evenings. He says: “One of the incredibly special things about being a NewVIc student is that they remain part of this community forever. We are very proud of what our students go on to achieve either at university or in work, but they appreciate the unique experience that they get here. The activities and skills sessions outside of core curriculum give our students a head start in life.”

As the classes stepped up to the stage to collect their certificates and pose for photographs, proud parents and friends clapped and cheered. In his speech, Eddie Playfair ensured that he recognised the important role supporters of students play in their academic success.
